Our company Villa Isobel Lda, registered in Portugal is the owner of the following business name BikeTrailsPortugal and the website Our aim is to respect the privacy of our website users and take care to protect their personal information as required by the European General Data Protection Regulation GDPR.

2. How do we collect personal information

We collect and document the information given to us when filled in by our website visitors on our “booking” and “contact us” forms or directly to us using, or by use of social media such as Facebook, Instagram or other links found on our website footer pages.

3. What personal information do we collect

The personal information we collect includes enquirers name, email address, telephone number, country, tour types, tour dates, guest numbers and special requirements. This may include information that enquirers submit by email correspondence to us using or as used by us and our advocates such as “Mailchimp” for marketing purposes unless you advise us differently from time to time. Portuguese law may require us to collect guests/visitors tax file numbers for the purposes of supplying invoices or as to comply with other legal obligations. A client’s personal data belongs to them not us and as such we are obliged to return details of all personal data to such client on request and within one month of such request.

4. How do we protect personal information

Our website uses Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) as an extension of the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP). It uses encryption for secure communication over a computer network, and is widely used on the Internet. The principal motivations for HTTPS are authentication of the accessed website and protection of the privacy and integrity of the exchanged data while it is in transit. Personal data and information we collect typically via our website or email from our enquirers and guests is held hard copy and not available in electronic form rendering it unavailable on any electronic network once collected. Clients/visitors to our website have the right to be informed by us if personal data is breached or compromised.

We will keep clients’ information so long as deemed necessary by us or as required by Portuguese law to do so or for legitimate insurance purposes so long as we have our clients’ consent . However, we respect clients instructions to delete their personal data upon request. If we send marketing material or other such email messages and the recipient/client wishes to opt out we use a typical unsubscribe facility.
